Wrinkles are cosmetically removed from a superficial area of mammalian skin tissue having an epidermal layer, a basal layer, and a dermal layer, by irradiating the dermal layer through the basal layer, the irradiation having an energy density in the range 5J/cm2 or less, and being selected to be absorbed by a chromophore in the dermal layer such that collagen present in the dermal layer is heated, while the basal layer remains intact so as to substantially inhibit contact of the dermal layer with ambient air.

L'invention concerne l'élimination cosmétique de rides d'une zone superficielle de tissus de peau mammaliens présentant une couche épidermique, une couche basale et une couche dermique; cette élimination se fait par radioexposition de la couche dermique à travers la couche basale. Ladite radioexposition présente une densité d'énergie de 5J/cm?2¿ ou moins, et est sélectionnée afin d'être absorbée par un chromophore dans la couche dermique, de sorte que du collagène présent dans ladite couche est chauffé, alors que la couche basale demeure intacte afin d'inhiber sensiblement le contact de la couche dermique avec l'air ambiant.
