A drawbar for a slackless drawbar system is disclosed. The drawbar comprises an elongated bar having a load support portion adjacent its one end for connection to one of a pair of adjacent cars in a train, a pin receiving opening extending through the load support portion, a hemispherical recess extending partially around the pin receiving opening and a pin bearing having a hemispherical outer surface receivable in the hemispherical recess and a cylindrical inner surface to receive a pin. The pin bearing preferably is constructed of two symmetrical halves retained in the hemispherical recess by a retaining clip of spring material and the pin receiving opening is provided with a recess to receive the pin bearing retaining clip. The drawbar is provided with a second load support portion at its other end which may be the same as the load support portion at its one end or which may be different if required to connect to a railway car with a different form of coupling.

La barre d'attelage comprend une barre allongée possédant une partie supportant la charge près de son exrémité pour son raccordement à un des deux wagons voisins d'un train; une ouverture recevant un axe qui s'étend à travers la partie recevant la charge; un évidement hémisphérique qui s'étend partiellement autour de l'ouverture recevant l'axe et un palier d'axe possédant une surface extérieure hémisphérique reçue dans l'évidement hémishérique et une surface intérieure cylindrique destinée à recevoir un axe. Le palier d'axe est, de préférence, constitué de deux moitiés symétriques retenues dans l'évidement hémishérique par un étrier ou un matériau résilient et l'ouverture recevant l'axe comporte un évidement destiné à recevoir l'étrier du palier d'axe. La barre d'attelage compte une deuxième partie supportant la charge à son autre extrémité qui peut être la même que la partie supportant la charge à une de ses extrémités ou qui peut être différente, si nécessaire, pour le raccordement à un wagon de chemin de fer possédant un attelage différent.
