A slag control shape is releasably mounted on a mounting member carried on a cover of a molten metal vessel. A movable member is carried on the cover and moved by an actuator into engagement with and moving the mounting member to move the mounting member to a position releasing the slag control shape for insertion into the molten metal vessel. The actuator is a fluid operated cylinder having an extensible piston rod which is engageable with the movable member to move the movable member into engagement with the mounting member. A valve actuated remotely from the cover supplies pressurized fluid to the cylinder to extend the piston rod. Alignment sensors are mounted on the cover and an actuator support to ensure that the cover is rotatably positioned on the molten metal vessel to align the actuator and movable members.
Un corps de régulation du laitier est installé, de façon amovible, sur un organe de montage que porte le couvercle d'une cuve de métal fondu. Ce couvercle comporte un élément mobile qu'un actionneur amène au contact de l'organe de montage, cet actionneur déplaçant également l'organe de montage afin de le mettre en position de libérer le corps de régulation du laitier en vue de l'insertion de celui-ci dans la cuve de métal fondu. L'actionneur est un cylindre mû par un fluide dont une tige de piston, en se déployant, est à même de venir appuyer sur l'élément mobile afin de le faire entrer en contact avec l'organe de montage. Un clapet, commandé à distance à partir du couvercle, alimente le cylindre en fluide sous pression afin de faire se déployer la tige de piston. Des capteurs d'alignement sont montés sur le couvercle ainsi que sur un support d'actionneur afin de faire en sorte que le couvercle soit positionné sur la cuve à métal fondu, de manière à pouvoir tourner, et ce, pour aligner l'actionneur et les éléments mobiles.
