A sleep apnea avoidance process includes selecting a pillow (10) having a pair of sides (11,12) angled at a predetermined angle and shaped to hold a person~s head face down on one side thereof. The selected pillow (10) has a pair of arm openings (15,16) thereunder to position a person~s arm to assist in holding a person~s head face down on the pillow (10) angled side (11 or 12) such that the user can use one or the other arms when placing the head on one or the other angled side (11 or 12) of the pillow (10). The process includes resting on one of the pillow~s angled sides (11,12) with one arm placed through the arm opening (15,16) whereby jaw movement and sleep apnea are avoided.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à empêcher l'apnée du sommeil consistant à se munir d'un oreiller (10) présentant une paire de côtés (11, 12) formant un angle prédéterminé, et formés de manière à maintenir la tête d'une personne, avec le visage orienté vers le bas, sur un côté. Ledit oreiller (10) comporte une paire d'ouvertures à bras (15, 16) situées à la base de l'oreiller, destinées à recevoir le bras d'une personne. Ainsi, la tête peut être maintenue plus simplement, visage vers le bas, sur le côté incliné (11 ou 12) de l'oreiller (10). Par ailleurs, l'utilisateur peut se servir de son ou ses bras pour placer sa tête sur l'un ou l'autre côté incliné (11 ou 12) de l'oreiller (10). Selon ledit procédé, l'utilisateur pose sa tête sur un des côtés inclinés de l'oreiller (11, 12) avec un bras placé dans une des ouvertures (15, 16), les mouvements de la mâchoire étant ainsi possibles et l'apnée du sommeil évitée.
