P-302 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A split-angle end rod assembly comprising an elon- gated rod having a longitudinal axis and integral with an upper bearing housing. A separate lower bearing housing is included and bolts secure the two bearing housings to- gether to define a circular bearing pocket. The housings mate on a diameter which is disposed at an acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the rod. A sleeve bearing is disposed in the pocket and includes an inner bearing surface surrounding a cylindrical journaled member in close spaced relationship therewith. The bearing surface has a first portion extending circumferentially on a constant radius and a second portion extending throughout the remaining circumference but being disposed outside the constant radius of the first portion and joins the first portion on the constant radius thereof. The bearing sleeve comprises identical two half-shells with each half-shell including one-half of each of the first and second bearing portions and mating on a dividing diameter. The half-shells are disposed in the respective bearing housings. In one embodiment the entirety of the second portion extends about a reference axis on a second constant radius whereas in another embodiment the second portion on one side of the dividing diameter extends about a first reference axis on the second constant radius and on the other side of the diameter extends about a second reference axis on the same second constant radius.
