A method, apparatus and computer program product for predicting received signal strength in a wireless mobile receiver. The invention bounds the range of allowed values for a next predicted signal. The bounded prediction compensates for erroneous values from multipath fading. The predicted signal strength is used to set the mobile receiver amplifier gain to the desired level.

Procédé, appareil et programme informatique permettant de prédire une intensité de signal reçu dans un récepteur de radiotéléphonie mobile. Selon la présente invention, la plage des valeurs permises pour un prochain signal prédit est limitée. La prédiction limitée compense les valeurs erronées provenant de l'évanouissement dû à la propagation par trajets multiples. L'intensité de signal prédite est utilisée pour régler le gain d'amplificateur de récepteur mobile au niveau désiré.
