A clamp circuit for use in a clock circuit having a phase-lock loop, the phase-lock loop including a phase detector, a loop filter, and a voltage-controlled oscillator, the clamping circuit connected between the loop filter and the voltage-controlled oscillator. The clamping circuit selectively provides, under the control of a clamping signal either a path for the loop through the clamping circuit or clamping the input of the voltage-controlled oscillator to varying potential. The varying potential is provided by a resistor capacitor network. When the loop is closed the capacitor is charged to an average of the loop control voltage for the oscillator. In response to the clamping signal the capacitor is connected to ground, thereby providing an RC time constant varying potential which allows the oscillator to be clamped to a fixed voltage in a slew-rate controlled manner.
L'invention est un circuit de calage utilisé dans un circuit d'horloge doté d'une boucle à asservissement de phase, cette boucle comportant un détecteur de phase, un filtre à boucle et un oscillateur commandé par la tension, ce circuit de calage étant connecté entre le filtre à boucle et l'oscillateur commandé par la tension. Sous la commande d'un signal de calage, ce circuit de calage offre un trajet de traversée à la boucle ou cale l'entrée de l'oscillateur commandé par la tension à un potentiel variable. Ce potentiel variable est réalisé au moyen d'un réseau comportant une résistance et un condensateur. Quand la boucle est fermée, ce condensateur est chargé jusqu'à une valeur moyenne de la tension de commande de l'oscillateur. En réponse au signal de calage, le condensateur est mis à la masse, ce qui produit un potentiel variant avec la constante de temps RC qui permet de caler l'oscillateur à une tension fixe en contrôlant la vitesse de réponse.
