A slidable room assembly (20) comprises a vehicle body (22) having an opening formed in an exterior wall, and a reciprocable slideout unit (24) or compartment (26) in the opening and slidable between a retracted position and an extended position. Sliding movement of the slideout unit is controlled by means of a drive mechanism which includes either one or two endless cables (62, 64). A plurality of sheaves (100), rotatably mounted on the slideout unit, define a path for the endless cable or cables. This path includes a pair of parallel longitudinally extending courses disposed on opposite sides of the slideout unit. Anchors (8) attached to respective longitudinally extending courses of the cable(s) and to adjacent portions of the vehicle body, effect relative reciprocation between the slideout unit and the vehicle body. Sliding movement of the slideout unit may be either motor driven or manually powered.
La présente invention concerne un ensemble chambre coulissant (20) comprenant un corps de véhicule (22) présentant une ouverture sur une paroi extérieure, et, disposé dans l'ouverture, un bloc (24), ou un compartiment (26) à extraction par coulissement entre une position repliée et une position déployée. Le mouvement coulissant du bloc à extraction est commandé par un mécanisme d'entraînement comprenant un ou deux câbles sans fin (62, 64). Un groupe de plusieurs poulies (100), montées rotatives sur le bloc à extraction, forment un trajet pour le/les câble(s) sans fin. Ce trajet présente une paire de segments parallèles s'étendant longitudinalement de part et d'autre du bloc. Des dispositifs de fixation (8) attachés sur chacun des segments du/des câble(s) s'étendant longitudinalement et sur les parties adjacentes du corps du véhicule, effectuent un mouvement alternatif relatif entre le bloc à extraction et le corps du véhicule. Le mouvement coulissant de ce bloc peut être entraîné manuellement ou par moteur.
