ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rotary electric device such as a variable resistor or an encoder has a rotatable control member, at least one slider secured to the control member, a resistance layer, and bendable contacts protruding from the slider. The contacts come into contact with the resistance layer. A pair of ribs is disposed near the base portions relative to which the contacts can bend to prevent the slider from being raised from the control member.
