SLIDING CLAMP HANGER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An article hanger, particularly useful for clothes such as skirts and slacks has an elongated body. Except in the general area of the hook by which the hanger is suspended, the body is an elongate member of non-circular cross section. A pair of article clamps are supported on the body. For this purpose the body passes through the clamps and anchor means on the clamps embraces and grips the body with enough force to prevent sliding movement of the clamps under normal conditions when supporting a garment but permitting an operator to intentionally reposition the clamps lengthwise of the body.
