ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sliding Door Assembly A sliding door assembly for a vehicle body has a first, slidable door hung from an upper slide rail, and this door may be swung from a closed position in a parallel plane with a second door to an open position. The first door is swung between open and closed positions by a hand-operated lever of a lever mechanism; the lever is rotatable about a pivot pin to actuate operating rods to pivot a carriage so that rollers on the carriage rest at 45° to the horizontal when the first door is closed, with an upper part of the circumference of each roller being received in an elongate slot.
