ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device for locking a closed sliding door panel is disclosed. It has a jamb-engaging style. When the panel is in a closed position, the stile is received within a channel defined by frame members comprising the jamb. At least one locking boss is received within the channel. When the panel is in a open position, the boss does not project out of the channel beyond the frame members comprising the jamb. Capturing device is carried by the jamb-engaging stile to capture to locking boss when the panel is in a closed position, to preclude opening lateral movement of the door panel.
