ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A sliding door sill construction of the type receiving a fixed door panel covering a part of the opening defined by the frame, and a sliding door panel slidable in generally parallel relationship with the fixed panel to close the remaining part of the opening. The sliding door panel is disposed inwardly of the fixed door panel from the standpoint of the opening defined by the frame. The door sill comprises a sill floor which is external to the opening defined by the frame and which is unobstructed by the fixed door panel. There is a platform elevated above the sill floor and intermediate the sliding door panel track and the fixed door panel and extending substantially the length of the fixed door panel.
