ABSTRACT A sliding gate comprises a slide unit which is adjustable by means of a driving mechanism and may be shifted to a position beyond the closed position, where the slide unit is pivotally supported in a bearing and slide tracks are lower relative to the slide tracks of the remaining track length by a height relaxing spring members. This slide unit can thus be swung out from the housing for the very frequent replacement of worn plates in a simple manner and put into working condition again after the re- placement of plates has been performed.
