Abstract of the Disclosure A railway passenger vehicle having a sliding plug door that moves to the interior of the vehicle upon opening. Upper support rails guide the door during movement and operate in conjunction with a guide rail located on the floor of the vehicle that cooperates with a door mounted roller to guide the bottom portion of the door. The lower guide roller includes a mounting spring arrangement that allows the roller to compensate for variations in the floor or variations in dimensioning between the floor and the upper guide rails to insure proper guidance of the door during opening and closing.
