Abstract A sliding plug door mechanism is provided which has a pneumatic actuator for providing the sliding motion of the door, the barrel of the actuator being deflectable on initial energisation from the fully closed position of the door to provide a reaction force via suitable link means to unlock a locking device which is operable by virtue of a cam following member movable along a cam track for retaining the door in its plugged position when closed.
