ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An automobile sliding roof structure in which a transparent sliding roof panel is associated with an independently retractable opaque canopy panel and where the vertical gap between the roof panel and the roof frame is covered by a U-shaped shutter, moving with the roof panel, but not pivoting with the latter, and by a transverse stationary shutter at the rear of the opening, while skirt portions extending downwardly from the roof panel frame close the gaps between the two shutter elements and the roof panel.
