La présente invention concerne une silice utilisable particulièrement dans les compositions dentifrices et compatible notamment avec la chlorhexidine. La silice de l'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente une compatibilité avec les produits du type guanidines et en particulier la chlorhexidine d'au moins 65% et plus particulièrement d'au moins 90% ainsi que de préférence une fonction d'acidité Ho d'au moins 3,3. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour la préparation de cette silice de même qu'une composition dentifrice renfermant ladite silice.
