ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An end fitting for a webbing lifting sling shaped so that the webbing strap is secured in place to prevent movement. The opening which has a boundary around which the webbing is wrapped also includes two protrusions extending into the opening, the protrusions being located just above the webbing. These protrusions prevent slippage of the webbing, but do not significantly add to the weight or interfere with attachment of a crane hook.
