Laws require hunters to unload and encase their when entering or retreating from a hunting area one half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset. If a firearm is not encased during these times, the hunter is breaking the law. The invention described and claimed herein relates to an article classed as a gun case for rifles and shotguns. Gun cases are well know and in common use and comprise a rigid or flexible covering that encloses the entire barrel and stock of a gun. The invention outlined in this application relates to a gun case for rifles and/or shotguns. The invention has two unique, strategically placed openings incorporated into it allowing the gun's own sling to be quickly reattached once the firearm is in the case. The invention is also lightweight and easily storable. It is common that gun cases either have no carrying mechanism attached to them or that there is a carrying mechanism attached directly to the case. Many gun cases are too heavy and bulky to be stored on one's person in the field and typically those that are lightweight do not have carrying mechanisms incorporated into them. Due to either the dimensions of other cases or the lack of carrying mechanism presently available gun cases are awkward to use in the hunting field and are therefore left behind by hunters or carried around with some inconvenience.
