The present invention relates to a process for the use of a new emulsion composition in the printing industry with respect to the folding process. The composition, when applied to printing substrates, provides outstanding lubrication and antistatic properties, reduces the occurrence of tears in the substrate and is also environment friendly. The compositions of the present invention are emulsions. These emulsions are applied to the substrate surface after the ink is applied. The mixed emulsion composition comprises from about to about 30 percent by weight of a C18 to C45 paraffinic oil; from about 0.1 to about 0.5 percent by weight of acrylic acid; from about 0.3 to about 0.7 percent by weight of polyvinyl pyrolidone; and from about 0.01 to about 0.5 percent by weight of triethanolamine and the balance being water.
