The present invention relates to a process for applying an optical coating to a substrate comprising the steps of (a) preparing an optical coating formulation comprising a solvent component and a film forming component; (b) using a die coater to form a coated substrate by applying the optical coating to a substrate, where the applied optical coating forms a wet film thereon having a thickness from 8µm to 100µm; (c) drying the coated substrate, where the coated substrate is in a substantially horizontal plane thereby converting the wet film to a dry film having a thickness of less than 1µm. The optical coating formulation comprises greater than 0.3 wt% to no more than 10 wt% solids relative to the total weight of the optical coating formulation. The coated substrate may be optionally cured.
La présente invention concerne un procédé d'application d'un revêtement optique sur un substrat qui consiste (a) à préparer une formulation de revêtement optique qui comporte un composant solvant et un composant filmogène ; (b) à utiliser un dispositif d'enduction à filière pour former un substrat revêtu par l'application du revêtement optique sur un substrat, le revêtement optique appliqué formant un film humide sur celui-ci ayant une épaisseur de 8 µm à 100 µm ; (c) à sécher le substrat revêtu, le substrat revêtu étant dans un plan essentiellement horizontal ce qui convertit ainsi le film humide en un film sec ayant une épaisseur inférieure à 1 µm. La formulation de revêtement optique comporte des matières solides dont le pourcentage en poids est supérieur à 0,3 %, mais inférieur à 10 % par rapport au poids total de la formulation de revêtement optique. Le substrat revêtu peut être facultativement durci.
