ABSTRACT A slot die of an extruder for making sheeting consists of top and bottom die members having elongate die lins, which define an exit gap at its top and bottom. At least one of the two die lips, preferably the top one, is flexible because it is reduced in thickness in its forward portion. Spaced apart adjustable pins, which are held on abut-. ments that are fixed to the die, bear on said forward portion and deform the lip so that it extends along a curved line which depends on the adjustment of said pins. To permit the making of sheeting in which the thickness deviations from a predetermined means thickness lie within desired tolerance limits,that portion of each adjustable pin which contacts the flexible portion of the die lip is provided with a poorly heat-conducting head and/or with a layer of heat-insulating material.
