Abstract of the Disclosure A particular alkali metal perborate having an outer layer of chemically bound calcium in an amount of from about 0.4 to 2.0% by weight of the total particle, to slow down the rate of dissolution. A process for preparing said slow-dissolving perborate. The slow-dissolving perborate is especially designed for mixing with detergent granules and has improved resistance against catalase attack under practical use conditions.
