A pressurised metered dose inhaler having an actuator constructed and arranged so as to inhibit airflow due to patient inhalation in the vicinity of the orifice of the nozzle block when the valve stem is in its dispensing position. This design reduces unwanted oropharyngeal deposition of medicament and increases the relative amount of medicament to the lung.

L'invention concerne un inhalateur-doseur sous pression, comprenant un actionneur construit et disposé de façon à inhiber un écoulement d'air provoqué par un patient qui inhale à proximité de l'orifice du bloc buse, lorsque la tige de soupape est en position de distribution. Cette conception permet de réduire un dépôt de médicament oropharyngé non désiré, et d'augmenter la quantité relative dudit médicament dans les poumons.
