The methods of treatment can counteract cocaine intoxication and prevent relapse into drug use during and after treatment. Preferably, (1-[2-[bis(4-fluorophenyl)-methoxy]ethyl]-4-[3-phenylpropyl]-piperizine is administered in the range of 0.1 mg to 100 mg per kg body weight per day.
