A process comprising polymerising in a loop reactor an olefin monomer optionally together with an olefin commoner in the presence of a polymerisation catalyst in a diluent to produce a slurry comprising solid particulate olefin polymer and the diluent wherein the Froude number is maintained at or below 20 is disclosed.

L'invention concerne un procédé qui consiste à polymériser un monomère oléfinique dans un réacteur en boucle, éventuellement avec un comonomère oléfinique en présence d'un catalyseur de polymérisation dans un diluant afin de produire une suspension boueuse comprenant un polymère oléfinique particulaire solide et ledit diluant, le nombre de Froude étant maintenu à 20 ou moins.
