A smoke detector (30) has a geometry that locates a sensor or sensors (40) at or near a boundary layer of smoke movement thus facilitating smoke entry into the sensor and/or sensors (40). The sensors (40) are mounted so as to protrude from the bottom of a cover (32b) instead of into the cover (32b) of the detector (30).

Détecteur de fumée dont la géométrie permet de placer un ou plusieurs capteurs au niveau ou à proximité d'une couche limitrophe de déplacement de fumée, ce qui facilite l'entrée de la fumée dans le capteur et/ou les capteurs. Ces capteurs sont montés de façon à former une saillie depuis le fond d'un couvercle, plutôt que de pénétrer dans le couvercle du détecteur.
