The invention concerns a smoke generator, in particular to be used as a deterrent against attempts at intrusion into a building, comprising a case (100) housing at least a smoke generating source (200) and a control device (300) to be coupled with a sensor to initiate the smoke generating source (200) when an attempt at intrusion is detected. The invention is characterised in that it further comprises a buffer chamber (150) between the smoke generating source (200) outlet and the external diffusing grid (122) provided on the case(100).
