Ester base stocks for two-cycle gasoline engine lubricant compositions are disclosed which produce lower amounts of observable smoke in the exhaust emitted as a result of combustion in a two-cycle gasoline engine, require no miscibility-enhancing solvents, have a viscosity of 3.0 cSt to 20.0 cSt at 100 ~C and a smoke index of at least 75. Some of the esters are biodegradable.

Des huiles de base contenant des esters, destinées à des compositions de lubrifiants contenant de l'essence pour moteurs à deux temps, produisent moins de fumée visible dans les gaz d'échappement après combustion dans un moteur à essence à deux temps, n'exigent aucun solvant améliorant la miscibilité et présentent une viscosité de 3 à 20 cSt à 100 ·C et un indice de fumée d'au moins 75.
