A cigarette is provided with a filter comprising a filter element of water- disintegratable paper. The paper is water swellable and/or the filter element comprises a water swellable agent. Tipping which interattaches the filter to the tobacco rod of the cigarette is anchored by means of water susceptible adhesive. Thus when the cigarette comes into contact with sufficient water, the filter element swells and the tipping opens away from the filter. This facilitates disintegration of the water-disintegratable paper.
L'invention porte sur une cigarette à bout filtre comportant un filtre constitué de papier se désagrégeant dans l'eau. Le papier est susceptible de se gonfler dans l'eau et/ou le filtre comporte un agent gonflant à l'eau. Le papier de bout rattachant le filtre au boudin de tabac de la cigarette est assujetti par un adhésif sensible à l'eau. De la sorte, lorsque la cigarette entre en contact avec une quantité suffisante d'eau, le filtre se gonfle et le papier de bout se décolle du filtre, ce qui facilite la décomposition du papier se désagrégeant dans l'eau.
