ABSTRACT Smoking Rod Wrappers and Compositions for their Production Peforated or unperforated wrappers for smoking rods are provided with a coating of a porosity-reducing compositions that provides low porosity during manufacture and storage but that allows the porosity to increase significantly as the burning tip approaches. Any perforations are preferably below 100 µm in diameter and the composition preferably comprises a fatty alcohol or a fatty acid, salt or ester that melts below 150°C together with, at most, about 20% binder.
