A composite fabric for use in reinforcement (18) of cementitious boards and similar prefabricated building wall panels (10). The fabric includes an open mesh first component (20) of continuously coated, high modulus of elasticity strands and a nonwoven second component (22) fabricated from alkali resistant thermoplastic material. The high modulus strands of the first component are preferably bundled glass fibers encapsulated by alkali and water resistant thermoplastic material. The composite fabric also has suitable physical characteristics for embedment within the cement matrix of the panels or boards closely adjacent the opposed faces thereof.
L'invention concerne un tissu composite destiné au renforcement (18) de panneaux à base de ciment et des panneaux muraux (10) de construction préfabriqués semblables. Le tissu comprend un premier composant (20) à mailles ouvertes de fils à revêtement continu à module élevé d'élasticité et un second composant (22) non-tissé fabriqué à partir d'une matière thermoplastique alcalino-résistante. Les fils à module élevé du premier composant sont de préférence des faisceaux de fibres de verre encapsulés par une matière thermoplastique alcalino- et hydrorésistante. Le tissu composite présente également des caractéristiques physiques convenables d'enrobage dans la matrice de ciment des panneaux ou cloisons adjacents aux faces opposées du tissu.
