-15- "SMOOTHING TINE ASSEMBLIES FOR CULTIVATORS" ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plurality of resilient ground smoothing tines are pivotally secured behind a cultivator and are raised and lowered with cultivator shovels. As the smoothing tine assembly is raised with the cultivator shovels, the top links between the smoothing tine frame and the cultivator frame are forced to jack-knife thus causing the smoothing tines to be lifted clear of the ground for clearance pur- poses and to dump any straw or trash which might be engag- ed thereby. The tines are shaped and are resilient so that they vibrate as they pass over the rough ground left by the cultivator shovels, not only smoothing and breaking up the rough soil, but vibrating vertically which assists in dumping straw which may have been picked up by the tine ends. The tines also incline downwardly and rearwardly which also facilitates straw dumping and prevents the straw from bunching up and climbing the tines.
