ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A button includes a button body having a centrally holed boss, and a fastener having a shank adapted to fit forcibly into an axial hole in the boss. The shank has a plurality of axially extending ridges spaced angularly at equal intervals for maintaining the shank in accurate axial alignment with the boss hole. An axial groove or grooves in the shank or in the hole of the boss is or are provided to allow escape of air from the hole as the shank is forced into the boss. The advance in the art is in that the button allows an improved stability on a piece of cloth reducing the possibilities of a wobbling movement.
