A single-use, clamshell protective cap for use primarily in healthcare settings in order to maintain the integrity of a medication solution. The cap has two halves, a cylindrical skirt, a puncture resistant lid portion, an interior flange, and an interlocking snap. When placed around a flanged injection port such as is found on a conventional fluid container and closed, the lid portion covers an access site on an injection port. After the cap is placed, the interior flange engages the port flange to prevent upward axial movement relative to the port, thereby preventing removal of the cap and thus deterring unwanted or erroneous drug administrations or withdrawals.
L'invention porte sur un couvercle protecteur à double coque, à usage unique, pour une utilisation principalement dans des équipements médicaux afin de conserver l'intégrité d'une solution de médicamentation. Le couvercle a deux moitiés, une jupe cylindrique, une partie couvercle résistant à la perforation, un rebord intérieur et un fermoir interverrouillable. Lorsqu'il est placé autour d'un orifice d'injection à rebord, tel qu'il est trouvé sur un conteneur de fluide classique et fermé, la partie couvercle recouvre un site d'accès sur un orifice d'injection. Après que le couvercle a été placé, le rebord intérieur se met en prise avec le rebord d'orifice pour empêcher un mouvement axial vers le haut par rapport à l'orifice, empêchant ainsi un retrait du couvercle et empêchant ainsi des administrations ou retraits de médicaments non souhaités ou erronés.
