ABSTRACT A snap lock seal in which a first locking member is formed with a plurality of transverse, circumferential tapered grooves which provide transversely extending shoulders and which are separated by a first predetermined distance from adjacent grooves, and a second locking member having a central opening and being engageable with the first locking member with a plurality of snap rings transversely mounted within the central opening of the second locking member and prevented from longitudinal movement, the snap rings having a spacing between each other which is different from the spacing between the plurality of tapered grooves in the first locking member, and receivable in said tapered grooves such that at least one of the snap rings locks against one of the shoulders to lock the first and second locking members to prevent longitudinal movement therebetween in a first longitudinal direction.
