Abstract The present invention relates to a snare device suited for capturing fox or other animals, said snare device including a tensioned spring (1), a snare (2) attached thereto with the free end of the snare adapted to form a wire noose (7) suited for tightening about the animal's leg and a tripping device (3) for tripping the tensioned spring. According to the invention, the tensioned spring (1) alone forms the framework of the snare device, the snare (2) is attached to one end (4) of the spring, while the other end of the spring is provided with n eyelet (5) through which the snare (2) is passed.
