ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A snatch block having opposed side sections which may be swung open to admit a cable, rope or other towline into the interior of the block for engaging a sheave jour- naled for rotation between the side sections and which has an anchorage device such as a hook secured to one of the sec- tions, the particular improvement being in the provision for ready interchangeability of the wide variety of anchor- age devices which are required for specific applications.
