During the operation of a snowmobile or other all terrain vehicles, it is common for such vehicles to become mired in snow or mud etc. Extraction of such vehicles without the assistance of another person usually requires that the vehicle be lifted manually from a deep rut and repositioned on more tractionable terrain before it can proceed. Lifting of such vehicles manually is extremely difficult, often requiring a dead vertical lift of hundreds of pounds while standing on soft or unstable terrain. This apparatus is designed to be transported on the vehicle and can be set up in seconds to assist in freeing it. The apparatus allows the operator to use their own body weight to lift and reposition the vehicle through the use of leverage, while at the same time providing a much larger and more stable lifting platform. Lifts of up to three times the operators body weight can be achieved without the inherent physical dangers of manual lifting.
