The present invention is directed to a method for making artificial snow wherein a snow-inducing agent is injected into the water of a snow-making system along with a particulate for increased snow-making capabilities and a higher quality of snow. The snow-inducing agent is a compound being a sulfate with a C8-16 carbon chain alcohol. Preferably, the compound is sodium myreth sulfate. The snow-inducing agent places tiny micro millimeter size air "bubbles" within the water molecules thereby stretching the molecules. The particles then mix in the wall of the water molecules causing the droplet to be hollow. The thin outer wall containing the particulate acts as a nucleating agent to start the freezing process. The molecule is less dense causing a faster transfer of latent heat combined with sensible heat.
La présente invention porte sur une méthode de production de neige artificielle, consistant à injecter dans l'eau d'un système de production de neige un agent inducteur de neige, avec une substance particulaire qui augmente la capacité de production de neige ainsi que la qualité de celle-ci. L'agent inducteur de neige est un composé de type sulfate sur un alcool à chaîne de 8 à 16 carbones. Le composé est de préférence le myreth-sulfate de sodium. L'agent inducteur de neige introduit de minuscules « bulles » d'air, mesurant quelques micromillimètres à l'intérieur des molécules d'eau, étirant ainsi ces dernières. Les particules se mélangent ensuite dans la paroi des molécules d'eau, ce qui forme des gouttelettes vides à l'intérieur. La mince paroi externe contenant la particule agit comme un agent de nucléation, qui initie le processus de congélation. La molécule est moins dense, ce qui entraîne un transfert plus rapide de chaleur latente combinée à la chaleur sensible.
