ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A snow shovel is disclosed which combines the straight transverse front or leading edge with the shape of a shallow scoop which forms a major part of the front face of the scoop of the shovel. The advantage is in that the shoveled snow tends to accumulate at the centre of the scoop thus reducing the spill over the sides of the shovel and also facilitating the manipulation of the shovel filled with snow. The geometry of the handle is designed to facilitate the manipulation of the shovel.
