A snow skate is disclosed which provides improved control and skate-like performance, particularly on hard-pack or icy surfaces. The S snow skate has edges which increasingly project from the central flat region of the ski to the forward area. Preferably this is achieved by making the base increasingly concave forward and rearward from a central generally flat region.
