A storage compartment for mounting to a snowboard having a plurality of pre-existing threaded mounting holes comprising a base member, a lid member hinged to the base member, and an insert fitted within the base member for receiving loose objects such as a wrench, wax, a locking cable and/or personal items. An anchoring post is secured to the base member. A closed loop end of a locking cable is passed around the anchoring post and the other end of the locking cable extends through an aperture formed in an end wall of the lid or base member where it is secured to a fixed object. A lock is provided to lock the lid member to the base member to prevent removal of the locking cable and theft of the snowboard when the snowboard is secured to the fixed object.

Cette invention concerne un compartiment de rangement à monter sur une planche à neige ayant une série de trous de montage pré-taraudés, ledit compartiment ayant une base, un couvercle articulé à la base et un insert placé dans la base pour le rangement d'objets tels qu'un clé, des bâtonnets de cire, un câble de verrouillage et/ou des objets personnels. Une tige d'ancrage fixée à la base reçoit l'extrémité en boucle du câble de verrouillage dont l'autre extrémité sort de la base par une ouverture ménagée dans une de ses parois de bout ou dans le couvercle pour se s'arrimer à un objet fixe. Un cadenas est prévu pour verrouiller le couvercle à la base et empêcher le retrait du câble de verrouillage et le vol de la planche à neige arrimé à l'objet fixe précité.
