There is provided a snowmobile jack for lifting an end of a snowmobile and storing the snowmobile in a raised position. The jack includes a post mounted on a horizontal base to be supported on a ground surface. A sleeve is slidably mounted on the post and includes a hook extending therefrom for engaging the snowmobile. A linkage is connected between the sleeve and a top end of the post. The linkage is movable between an lowered position wherein the sleeve is adjacent a bottom end of the post and a raised position wherein the sleeve is adjacent the top end. A handle extends from the linkage to act as a lever for actuating the linkage between the lowered and raised conditions of the jack. The linkage is arranged to be pivoted past an over centre position in to the raised condition of the jack such that the linkage is self locking for securing the snowmobile in the raised position without the use of an additional locking element.
