SNOWPLOWABLE GUARD MEMBER FOR REFLECTIVE ROADWAY SIGNAL DEVICES AND SNOWPLOWABLE PAVEMENT MARKER ASSEMBLIES UTILIZING SAME ABSTRACT A snowplowable guard member having a snowplow ramp section with a depending keel. The ramp section includes a raised mid-portion with a pair of inclined ramps extending downwardly therefrom to the pavement surface in opposite directions. The guard rail has locating means on one side engaging a reflective signal device, and an outwardly and downwardly inclined side member on the opposite side. The guard members are mounted in spaced, parallel relationship with their keels located in slots formed in the pavement. The reflective pavement marker is mounted on the pavement between the two guard members. The locating means of the two guard rails engages the signal device and locates it between the raised mid-portion. The height of the pavement marker above the pavement surface is less than that of the raised mid-portions of the guard members so that the snowplow blades will be guided over the ramps without contacting the signal device.
