ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Prefabricated tape material designed to be laid on and firmly secured to the surface of roadways and other areas open to vehicle traffic pavement for forming lines and other traffing regulating signs and markings thereon. The tape material has a traffic wear resisting upper layer having an essentially planar surface and a plurality of traffic facilitating elements in particular retroreflective elements partially embedded into and secured to said upper layer and partly essentially sharply protruding above the planar surface for a given height for light impingement and retroreflection. The tape material comprises complemental protective components upwardly protruding over the planar face up at a height greater than the given height and forming a snowplowing implements raising and supporting surface on which the implements can slidingly pass without interference with the protruding elements.
