ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a snowshoe binding comprising a flap of elastically deformable material having at least two mounting points for attachment of the leading edge of the flap to a snowshoe, and an aperture formed within the flap through which the boot or shoe of the wearer may pass, whereby, in use, the elastically deformable flap firmly holds the boot or shoe to the snowshoe while allowing it to pivot in the vertical plane. In this manner, the use of a conventional harness arrangement is avoided.
