The present invention relates to an optical device for viewing colors on a soap film. These colors are a phenomenon known a light interference. The device has a slide which is displaced into and out of a reservoir of liquid soap by a manual lever. The slide has a circular hole which is where the film becomes suspended. When the slide is posed in a viewing position above the reservoir it becomes illuminated by a mirror which reflects a light source onto the film, thereby producing fascinating color and light effects. The image is magnified by a lens prior to reaching the observers eye. The device also has a system for disturbing the soap film in order to produce further color and light effects. This optical device is enclosed in a case which provides necessary alignment of the elements. It is hand held and operable by children or adults.
