A sobriety interlock system having an alcohol detection device electrically connected to a computing device is provided. An electronic circuit is electrically connected between the computing device and an OBD-II port on a machine for receiving data related to operation of the machine. A breath sample is provided by an operator of the machine and the alcohol detection device determines the alcohol concentration of the breath sample. The computing device determines a blood alcohol concentration for the operator based on the breath alcohol concentration, and the computing device prevents or allows operation of the machine based on the level of the blood alcohol concentration. A memory device stores machine operation data received through the OBD-II port.
L'invention concerne un système de verrouillage pour la sobriété doté d'un dispositif de détection d'alcool connecté électriquement à un dispositif de calcul. Un circuit électronique est connecté électriquement entre le dispositif de calcul et un port OBD-II d'une machine de manière à recevoir des données concernant le fonctionnement de la machine. Un échantillon d'haleine est fourni par un opérateur de la machine et le dispositif de détection d'alcool permet de déterminer la concentration d'alcool dudit échantillon. Le dispositif de calcul permet de déterminer une concentration d'alcool dans le sang destiné à l'opérateur, en fonction de la concentration d'alcool dans l'haleine et le dispositif de calcul sert à prévenir ou à permettre le fonctionnement de la machine à partir du niveau de la concentration d'alcool dans le sang. Un dispositif de mémoire sert à stocker des données de fonctionnement de la machine reçues par le biais du port OBD-II.
